As long as I am conscious I am trying to be a nice, loving person. As I walk down the halls of my school, even though there may be bad attitudes and rude behaviors, I try to greet as many people as I can with a warm smile and a “hello” or “good morning” or “how are ya”! But today on my way back to my dorm, I passed by a worker who always looks so intently at me with a huge grin as I give my usual enthusiastic “Good morning”! Today he replied, “Look at that gorgeous smile! You make me so happy just because you smile”! Thanking him blushing, I realized something bigger. Encouragement is a spectacular cycle! When you reach out to others with the most humble and honest of intentions, you are reinforcing their own ability to encourage YOU (and others of course).
Even though your efforts may go un-addressed, that doesn’t mean they’re unobserved. So keep reaching out, being kind, and doing what ever you are doing to help because it will come full circle one day and end up encouraging you even more!
….So I think I’ll keep smiling =)
